Here is another “Your Voice” segment with a discussion on PDS versus Linkage. It is often a topic widely debated but lets settle the topic here in this discussion. Where does each benefit, come up short, and which works better for you?
Innovation Offroad: From personal experience, I’ve always liked the PDS system on the KTMs better. The best PDS system KTM had was on the 08-09 XC frames which I believe worked the best because it allowed the bikes to turn well in corners and placed proper weight on the front wheel. I’m one of those riders that likes my front wheel to feel planted all the time. PDS works well for it’s tune-ability and seems to soak up the rocks well in technical terrain. One of the downsides of the PDS system is it’s ability to kick you while crossing logs. Linkage seems to handle logs better by not kicking as much. I would also say that linkage is much more picky with sag set-up when dialing in suspension. For now, I prefer linkage over PDS, mostly because it is what I know the best.
In the comment section below, share your experience with PDS and/or Linkage? What are some positive and negatives of each? Which do you prefer?
